Typographical Error - does level reward change?
Question:
If you use Typographical Error on a monster that would normally give you 2 levels if you kill it, do you now only get 1 level since the monster is weaker? My reasoning: I ask because the card explicitly points out that the monster's "powers and treasure" remain unchanged, but doesn't point out the level reward being unchanged. It seems strange to point out only certain things remaining unchanged while not mentioning the level reward. Since, to my knowledge, there is no level 1 monster in the game that rewards 2 levels, it seems reasonable that you don't get the level reward. (Of course, there is no level 1 monster that gives 5 treasure, but then again, the card makes it clear that the treasure stays the same...) The "for all purposes" phrase also makes me think that it would not give the same level bonus; a monster's power is certainly a factor in it giving 1 level or 2 for defeating it, is it not? |

Typographical Error Only changes the level of the monster to one and not the rewards. So you still get two levels.
Its one of those super powerful cards.

Re: Typographical Error - does level reward change?
The only feature that Typographical Error changes is the Level of the monster. Everything else remains the same.

Thanks for the quick response as always Andrew.
One more question if you don't mind: If you use Typographical Error on a monster, and then someone does Switcheroo or Illusion or some other card that swaps the monster out for a different one, does the Typographical Error apply to the new monster? |

Re: Typographical Error - does level reward change?
Smoothhands, in answer to your second question, my experience tells me the answer is no. As I understand it, a card like Illusion or Switcheroo would remove the monster and all the enhancers that have been played on that monster. The new monster would be coming in without any enhancers (either beneficial or detrimental). At least, that is how we've played. I believe there is something in the FAQ about this - maybe not these specific cards - gameplay mechanic that applies.

Re: Typographical Error - does level reward change?
Nope. Typographical Error applies to a specific monster, so it goes away if the monster does.
