Cleric abilities...
First off... there is this one curse that can be a bit confusing when dealing with a Cleric. The Change Sex Curse... it gives the affected Munchkin -5 on their next battle and also changes their sex permanently. If they're successfully roll their d10 power then you just ignore the curse... but let's say they don't roll the d10 successfully... they have to suffer -5 on their next battle and change their sex... but could they continue to try and roll the d10 during each turn to try and cancel the sex change?
Second Cleric related question involves their discard ability... can you discard as many times as you'd like to regain health? Like you could face three monsters but not beat them... take your three hits for not beating them... then discard three cards to regain those three hearts?

Re: Cleric abilities...
Sex Change isn't a persistent curse that just sits around. You permanently change sex right when the curse is played and suffer a -5 penalty on your next combat because you're distracted by your new, erm.. parts. So unless you can stop it right when it happens then you're out of luck.

To expand on (read: correct) the previous answer, the Cleric ability could be used to lift the -5 penalty, which IS a continuing effect until discharged, but the sex change itself it permanent.

Re: Cleric abilities...
Guess I stand (read: sit), corrected. ;)
Just seems weird that the -5 just hangs around and still counts as a kind of quasi-curse that can be removed before your next combat and the sex change is permanent, it's like 2 curses in one. The reason for the combat penalty is the new, parts, which happens when the curse is resolved I thought. Oh well, I've been wrong before and I most likely will be again at some point. |

But if it does hit you... it automatically changes your gender... and I guess you can't cancel it at all!

Re: Cleric abilities...
Well you can't cancel the gender change part, but it looks like the ruling is that you can still use the cleric ability to try and remove the -5 combat penalty on every turn until you engage in an actual combat.

Re: Cleric abilities...
Hold on there. If the Cleric's d10 power is used when the curse is just played, it is canceled. This means no sex change, no -5. If it is used later to remove an existing curse, the sex change can not be changed, but the -5 penalty is removed.

Re: Cleric abilities...
Alright awesome... that's what I was hoping... even though we played it wrong! So that's one curse that can actually affect a Cleric... as long as his d10 power doesn't get rid of it!

Re: Cleric abilities...
I definitely have a hate/love feeling towards the Cleric Class... if you're a Cleric it's awesome... but if other players are Clerics... it sucks hardcore!
Clerics are almost invincible! You can never kill them because they can always heal as much as they need to by discarding cards... plus they're practically impervious to curses once they reach a higher level! They should have made the d10 power usable only once per that Munchkin's turn! It says they can try to use it during each Munchkin's turn... meaning if you have some pesky lasting curse and you're playing with four people... you have four chances to get rid of that one curse before your next turn! I usually just curse Clerics to get rid of my unwanted curses! They're definitely the strongest class!
