Default GURPS Releases seem to be slow?

I've noticed that there seems to be a relative slow release schedule for books circling GURPS. Zombies is the only upcoming release I've even seen mentioned.

What gives?

GURPS Technical Grappling. GURPS Adventure Guns. GURPS Vehicle Design System.

Now you've heard several more mentioned.

SJgames is currently working on another project, if I remember correctly. Gurps isn't where they make their money. They make their money doing other things and do Gurps on the side.

You might find this post informative. At present, Ogre remains the chief holdup, and the status of those GURPS projects looks like this:
  • Awaiting late-stage production steps (art, prepress review, and/or final approval):

    • GURPS Banestorm: Martial Arts
    • GURPS High-Tech: Adventure Guns
    • GURPS Locations: St. George's Cathedral
    • GURPS Martial Arts: Technical Grappling
    • GURPS Thaumatology: Chinese Elemental Powers
    • GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic
    • GURPS Ultra-Tech (not a new edition, just a PDF revision for errata)
    • GURPS Underground Adventures
    • Transhuman Space: Wings of the Rising Sun

  • Awaiting earlier production stages (mainly completion of layout):

    • Discworld RPG
    • GURPS Zombies

  • In the process of being revised by authors:

    • GURPS Horror: The Madness Dossier
    • GURPS Loadouts: Low-Tech Armor
    • GURPS Vehicle Design

  • On hold:

    • GURPS After the End 1
    • GURPS After the End 2

  • Currently still vapor, even if we've let the title slip:

    • Girl Genius Sourcebook and RPG
    • GURPS Armourer's Handbook
I now have eleven – not nine – other projects on my list that I cannot discuss. Each sub-list above remains alphabetical and doesn't reflect predicted order of publication, and hardback books, in red above, are on a different track.

Thank you for replies. I'm happy to especially see Zombies and Thaumatology getting love.

I can't wait to throw money at SJG for GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic and GURPS Vehicle Design. I had almost given up on the latter; I am so happy to see it's sitll moving forward. I was particularly encouraged by your mention of it in your live journal recently.

Here's hoping Ogre gets out of the way.

BTW, wasn't that meant to be released a while ago?

I think they'd originally hoped to have it out around now. IIRC, they're currently looking at April.

It was. Now everyone's just trying to find a moving truck capable of carrying just one of them.
