Burst Archery?
PC with Horsebow and AdjDX 15.
Spends one turn waiting for an opening. Then looses two arrows in one round, both at DX 16. Rinse and repeat? |

Re: Burst Archery?
Sounds ok to me. Except...he can fire 4 arrows in 4 turns this way or....4 arrows in 4 turns the normal way, so why bother. There might be som circumstances where this would be beneficial, but I guess they'd be rare.

Re: Burst Archery?
Sounds street-legal but contrary to the spirit of the rules (i.e., I doubt the intent was that a person who is too slow to shoot twice per turn temporarily becomes fast enough if they aim in advance). There is lots of crazy stuff like this that nominally fits within the logical operators of the game's stated rules, but which I consider contrary to intent. I feel blessed that these sorts of things don't get brought up at my table.

Re: Burst Archery?
Obviously, but you lose the opportunity to fire each turn, which will usually be more important, unless you're set up like a sniper in a hide, on castle battlements or something like that. In a Dungeon environment there won't normally be the luxury of that much waiting around.

Re: Burst Archery?
I don't think it's necessarily a balance problem, and if all the players think it's good, sure, but I also don't think it'd work that way since 1) the +1 is about aiming and 2) I'd think it'd only apply to the first shot.

Re: Burst Archery?
I think Skarg has it right that the waiting bonus would only apply apply to the next shot, which means that there would be no second shot that turn.

Re: Burst Archery?
I'd just like to say how useful it is to have this forum. As I'm coming back to playing TFT after many years it's really helpful to be able to see other viewpoints and interpretations of the rules.
