In world terms, Karameikan nobility has picked up one custom from their Traladaran subjects, that of the shearing. During the shearing, a child is sent out into the world to make something of him or herself without support of parents. Thus, a character could be of noble ancestry but would not have any of the benefits therof. In game terms, Dungeon Fantasy doesn't use Status. |

Re: [OOC] GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Mystara
Neither obligated by custom, nor allowed by the GM. Moreover, there is very little chance that your human knight character will be accepted if submitted now.

Well, if you say that it isn't worth it to submit a character, I'll go ahead and bow out of this one! Have fun!

Re: [OOC] GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Mystara
Finishing Anelas:
Quirks - Frequently jokes and believes them all to be funny (even though they are, at best, hit and miss) Refers to others with derogatory nicknames from nature that he thinks everyone should adopt (bounties are "fish," commoners are "weeds," etc., more to be discovered as I play this guy). The nature portion is my only hat tip to woodland scouts -- this guy is definitely not a ranger Considers himself a noble and refers to himself in that way, even though he is disowned. Gullible commoners believe it, experienced commoners think he is full of it, and nobles with ties to his family (that know what is going on) get ticked off by it. Still a quirk, though, and not enough to provoke an aggressive response from his (ex)family. Chauvinistic as per Characters. Fits with his proud noble background. Last quirk is a mix of incompetence (Singing, -4) and likes (Singing, only when drunk). The incompetence by the book warrants a quirk by itself, but let's face it - it is singing and this is DF. Adding the addition of the likes seems to balance things out. All subject to GM Approval, of course. Perks - Strongbow, Weapon Bonds (Longbow below, trained with it his whole life) Leaves 8 points (5 from the correction you made plus 3 for 5 quirks/2 perks) for a total of $4,000 plus $1,000 base for $5,000 starting money. Equipment: Family Bow (Elven Longbow) $3,200, ST 13 (as if 15), can pull with Strongbow. 1d+3 i (EDIT: 2d-1 +2 per dice for Weapon Master (Longbow) for 3d-1 /edit), Acc 3, Range 225/300, Weight 3, RoF 1, Shots 1(2), Bulk -8. Bow bought with points, designating it signature gear (DF Adventures pp. 23) Thrusting Broadsword $600, 1d+2ct, 1d+1 i, Weight 3 Light Scale Armor, DR 3, $150, Weight 15 Heavy Leather Sleeves, Heavy Leather Leggings, DR 2, Weight 6, $110 Boots, DR2, $80, Weight 3 Light Shield, DB 1, Weight 2, $25, DR5, 20 HP Quick Release Backpack $300, 3#; Blanket $20, 4#; Personal Basics, $5, 1#; Pouch, $10, 0.2#; Rations x6, $12, 3#; Wineskin, $10, 0.25#; Hip Quiver Large, $30, 2#; Shoulder Quiver, $10, 0.5#; Shackles, DR 4, 10 HP, $200, 2# 20 Bowl-raker arrows 1d+3 ct (EDIT: 3d-1 ct /edit), half when removed $40; 25 Barbed arrows 1d+3i (EDIT: 3d-1i /edit), half when removed $50; 25 blunt arrows, 1d+3 cr (EDIT: 3d-1 cr /edit) $50. $318 gold left over, which he will hold on to for carousing and generally looking important. EDIT Notes: Sorry for the mistake, I must be tired. Misrounded 1d+1 (+2) to 1d+3 rather than the correct 2d-1. Neglected to apply the damage bonus for Weapon Master (Longbow) which took damage up to 3d-1. Now I am going to sleep before I make any more mistakes for the night... Re: [OOC] GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Mystara
Are you still looking for spellcasters? I wouldn't mind playing an Elementalist (of course I'd have to do my own On The Cheap template, I think).

Re: [OOC] GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Mystara
... okay, let's go with that. If you can put together a viable 150 point version of the template that doesn't have more than about -70 points in disadvantages and reduced attributes, that will work.

Looking forward to the actual character. If you're familiar with Mystara, I'd suggest having him be a Belcadiz elf from Glantri. And if so, same rules apply about languages -- you need to speak both Elf and Thyatian. Last edited by Davies; 09-01-2010 at 10:52 PM. |
