Milk of Amnesia in a fight with multiple monsters

In a munchkin steampunk game.

A player is fighting three monsters and plays milk of amnesia,

Does this end the combat?
Can the player choose a monster that is removed from the fight?

We are having a debate as to whether this card ends the fight.

Context: This was a level 9 fight, there were two other monsters in the fight. If a monster is removed then the player could defeat the monsters and win.

PS: If it can be used to remove a monster, I assume that it's the player using it which chooses the monster to be removed.

That certainly should have been clearer on the card. Let me ask Steve (who wrote that set) and see about getting you a definite answer.

That didn't take long! Steve says "one monster," so if you're fighting multiples, the combat continues. The person playing the Milk of Amnesia chooses which monster to discard.

You should know that Milk of Amnesia is the scariest card amongst our player circle. :)
