They likely grow in the same sense that anything being made in a 3d printer grows. They're assembled slice by slice and layer by layer, with big chunks produced elsewhere slotted in at appropriate moments. I think "living machine" might not describe the look of the bioroid, so much as the assembly process, which will look a lot like a car coming together on an assembly line.
