Macross, yes, but i've not seen all of the series. And, i've only seen a bit of Escaflowne (love the music though), so that isn't it either.

Asuka has more of a personality than this guy (who is an off-the-rack shonen hero with no distinguishing traits), and isn't nearly as good a pilot.

There probably are distinguishing traits (and this character isn't a generic shonen-ai), but I can't recall one at the moment. Actually, if I did, it might make it too easy.

Also, keep in mind Wildcard skills encompass a WIDE area, and not just the specific model/type the operator handles.
