GURPS Magic Questions?
Working on my Monster Hunters Campaign and collecting the last of the books/PDF's that I will need when I came across Magic Items. Would this be something I would need for a Monster Hunters campaign? I can't look inside and decide and say Oooooo that item seems perfect for my Idea. My Campaign is going to be like Supernatural and there are many magic items in the series. So it this something I should look into getting or is it not worth it?
And what is the difference between GURPS Magic and GURPS Magic Items? Thanks In advance everyone. |

Re: GURPS Magic Questions?
Magic Items was a 3e series and it is based on the GURPS Magic spell-magic system (whatever you want to call it). Will have almost no bearing on Ritual Path Magic charms and fetishes, except possibly as inspiration.

Re: GURPS Magic Questions?
Magic Items 3 is a catalog of magic items along with some suggestions for variant enchanting rules. Like Sir Pudding said, it's for 3rd edition and for the standard GURPS Magic rules. The write-ups for the various items tend to lack details for the rules, and would require a lot of GM rulings if used in play. The items are mostly focused on a standard medieval game but there are a couple that are appropriate for urban fantasy games.
It's not a bad purchase for inspiration, but it's not an amazing product, either. It would be significantly less useful if you're planning on using the Ritual Path Magic system suggested by the Monster Hunters PDFs, but it wouldn't be terribly useful even if you're using some other magic system.
