FnordCon Painting Contest
SJG posted this over on Facebook some time ago, but just realised it wasn't posted over here yet. It would be great to see a lot of entries to build up momentum to keep this sort of thing going in the future!
https://www.facebook.com/pg/sjgames/...56916010686007 "At FnordCon (April 6-7 in Austin) we will play a lot of Ogre, and we’ll be holding an Ogre miniatures painting contest. There will be two divisions: Live (for those who can bring a painted miniature) and Photo (for those who can’t attend or can’t bring their miniature to the show). To enter the Live division, just bring your painted Steve Jackson Games-produced miniatures from the Ogre line with you to FnordCon! You do not have to register in advance. So, if you’ve got one partially done, you still have a couple of weeks to finish it. The miniatures may be metal or plastic; it’s only the paint job that we will be looking at! To enter the Photo division, email one color photo (per mini), preferably 3/4 view from slightly above so we can see both front and side (see PHOTO EXAMPLE), of up to two miniatures that you have painted. Make the email subject line "FnordCon Miniatures Entry” and be sure to include your actual name and where you’re from in the body of the e-mail. Send your photos to fnordcon@sjgames.com and we'll also be posting them in a photo album as part of this Facebook page. Entries must be received before 11 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, April 3. Each contest participant may submit a maximum of two entries in their chosen division (Live or Photo). Prizes will be bragging rights, plus surprises! Good luck!"

Re: FnordCon Painting Contest
So wish I could go to FnordCon. Cant exactly justify spending thousands of dollars on a short round trip to Austin from Tokyo though.

I wish I could go also.
Unfortunately, I have a project in MI starting Monday. I'll be there until the end of May. I may try to go to Origins this year, though, schedule permitting. |

Re: FnordCon Painting Contest
I would have loved to make the trek this year too; but by the time it was announced, I had already submitted an Ogre game event to run at havoc, a small miniatures convention here, Havoc.
Hoping that timing, budget, and FnordCon all fall into alignment for next year!

In the spirit of it will be fun, I've sent in a couple of pictures. Might as well, it's all fun when the giant stompy cybertank comes to town.
