Can you cast from a shield lectern?
The description says a scroll can be consulted hands-free, but does not name magical scrolls specifically, whereas DFE76 says the scroll must be ready in two hands.
It would seem like having a single scroll at the ready would be an obvious intended use of the lectern, but I’m not sure which way it goes...

Re: Can you cast from a shield lectern?
I would say the intent is that the shield lectern lets you bypass the requirement for two hands, as an example of a specific overriding the general. There's not really any non-magical scrolls kicking around, right?
But it definitely could do with being a little more specific :P EDIT: I don't think the "ready in two hands" is intended as some sort of arcane restriction (a somatic component) - I think it's a restriction of the scroll format. They're not exactly convenient.

Re: Can you cast from a shield lectern?
The "two hands" thing is a purely tactical consideration. It has zero connection to magic. The whole point of the shield lectern is to circumvent that consideration. Change "consulted" to "used" in the item description if you find that clearer.
