Default 1/35 Ogre: Paneuropean Jaeger Heavy Tank build

Hi,
I've been playing Ogre since the 1980s. I'm also a model builder. I've decided to build some of the vehicles from Ogre for myself in 1/35 scale. Starting with the Paneuropean Heavy Tank. Next will be the GEV, them maybe some Metagaming classics. All in 1/35.

Made plans and bought supplies. Using spare tracks, but not much of a kit bash:

Showing progress:

Thinking I'll paint it Red when done. Suggestions?

*Note: Not building for a master mold or to be sold in anyway. Please don't ask. Thanks in advance.

Nice job so far!

Red with a white stripe would be good, like the minis shown in the rule book and in Warehouse 23.

Any idea if there is anyone out there selling scale tank treads by themselves?

15mm scale would be my preference.

Or does anyone have an idea of what to use to model them?

One link I found is this: http://www.scalemodelguide.com/const...s-tank-tracks/

For the 15mm models I have built, I have cut strips of material and laid them out - a long, painstaking process.

Thanks,

Joe

That is very nice!

I'm still looking for something to model the treads for my 1/48 Mark V...

The on line hobby-shop Squadron (www.squadron.com) sells a lot of 'upgrade' sets, including treads for a variety of scales, as well as a lot of other parts useful for kit-bashing.

I'll post new pics soon. I will go with Red with White Stripe. Any idea which red is that exactly. Looks like a dark matte red.

The tank is going quickly, I think the GEV will be the issue. That skirt will be an problem to get it exact.

I've seen something about using ridged flexible plastic pipe cut in half for the skirts.

Thanks, I'll look into it. I had a mad thought of just cutting pieces like this () and gluing them together. Must be a better way.

Some updates: Just need to build turret, door and detail. Then primer, paint and finish.

On the treads question, has anyone seen this kickstarter for LEGO track links? I know they are not to 1/35 scale, but they could be useful. The kickstarter ends Sat. June 8, in case you wanted to know.
