GURPS Prime Directive Races in an ATU GURPS Traveller
Hola,
I'm wondering if anyone has run or played in a GURPS Traveller campaign that used the GURPS Prime Directive books on the Romulans, Klingons and the Federation. If you did how did it go? In planning for my new GURPS Traveller campaign (which will be solidly ATU) I am considering substituting Vulcans for the Zhodani, Klingons for the Aslan, and Romulans for either the Vargr, Hivers, K'kree. I'm even considering substituting the Gorn for the Vilani with the rationale that they are as change-averse as "The Race" from Harry Turtledove's World War Series, which would account nicely for their technological stagnation and inability to innovate to face the "Terran Menace". Wadda Ya Think? Hero of Canton

Could it work? Of course, although the result will not really quite be Traveller or Trek. For a merchants game, you really should add in the Ferengi.

And yeah, I'm building a hybrid that is neither Trek nor Traveller. <Shrug> Hero of Canton

GURPS:PD is only licensed for TOS and TAS, and only limited parts of that.

Re: GURPS Prime Directive Races in an ATU GURPS Traveller
The biggest drawback I've encountered so far in GURPS Prime Directive and its three supporting books; The Federation, The Klingons and The Romulans is the lack of info on the post-TOS Klingons. I found some here@ SJG Forums but would appreciate any leads y'all might have.
FYI -- The version of The Gorn I'm thinking of substituting for the Vilani of the Ziru Sirka are the ones from the Star Trek: Enterprise series -- much more like Velociraptor than T-Rex. Hero of Canton

You can't have missed that ADB is not able to legally include anything like that. If you want raw source material why not take it from the TV shows and movies?
