Default Sleep affliction and waking up

So one of my PCs has an affliction that causes sleep. Now they want the bad guy to wake up in a hurry.

How should I run this? There aren't many rules regarding sleep and waking up, ironically.

My initial idea is you just wake up but are mentally stunned for a bit when you take damage, but since it's an artificial sleep any lesser stimulus like loud noise isn't really going to cut it. thoughts?

As far as I can tell it's ordinary sleep. Given that someone who is asleep is just as helpless as someone who is unconscious, but sleep is 150% whereas unconscious is 200%, the difference must be in ease of recovery.

This posted DM reply of Kromm's clarifies the official ruling. Note that Sleep, like all the Incapacitating Afflictions, physically stuns the victim after the affliction's duration has expired, requiring them to roll against HT each second to shake it off.
