There are still jokes made about the Chevy Nova down along the border (I lived in El Paso for many years), but it didn't have a thing to do with any unusual intercourse activities -- basically, in Tex-Mex (which is the variant of Spanish spoken a lot down there) "No va" means "doesn't go." Which, you will admit, is both a funny name for a car, and also kind of bad advertising... ;-)

And it WAS a Chevy -- which at the time, weren't exactly the most reliable cars on the market, though I don't remember the Nova being particularly bad in that regard (unlike the Vega)!

Blue Ghost,

SJ Games recently posted online (I cannot remember where at the moment, possibly Twitter or Kickstarter) the name change from Sunday Drivers to Crash City was a result of a legal situation, likely a case of intellectual property.

Phil mentioned it a couple places, and yeah, it was a trademark thing. I never really bought into the myth that it was angry older types who forced the change. I just can't picture SJ, having just won his legal battles against Metagaming, caving to a bunch of humorless fossils. :D

One of the coolest tools online: USPTO TESS.

Oh cool, I got you covered this time.

Post from Phil Reed referencing the name change of Sunday Drivers

When I saw that several days ago, I bookmarked it and immediately thought of this discussion.

Tom H. and philreed,

Thank you for the replies. I have known about the USPTO TESS for several years. I was too lazy to use it to search for Sunday Drivers. :o)
