It's not the Large Group, it's the plus three. Soprano might be a name 1 in 10Jerseyites recognizes, the large group, but a +3 is equivalent to what the star on a Cable TV show gets. GURPS makes it difficult to get round point costs on certain combinations of group size and strength of that recognizion, but here is the thing: You are not statting out the characters to a specific point budget. +1 reaction, 10% of New Jersey residents may come out to a point and a fraction cost, but who cares?

At +3, people can refer to Tony Soprano by Euphemism and everyone catches the meaning.

I think that's a function of "Frequency of Recognition" and group size, as opposed to the actual bonus. The bonus would be if he is recognized, which I probably should lower to "sometimes" (I just realized that Frequency doesn't mirror group size in the x2/3,1/2,1/3 cost). Actually, it's probably a multifacted reputation as +3 (Small group, always) and +1(or2) (Large group, sometimes); or something like that.

This definitely needs more info. I can think of at least a dozen characters that these traits fit. Pretty much any fit Hispanic instructor or teacher, which doesn't narrow it down much.
