Munchkin Fu Back Banner
We just played our first game of Munchkin Fu and I wanted to make sure I made a legal move, because it seemed like a gray area:
Back Banner states that each item you sell to go up a level is worth an extra 200 gold, even if it has "No Value." So, I sold a "No Value" item for 200 gold, a 400 gold item for 600 gold, and the Back Banner itself to total 1000 gold and go up a level. Is this okay to do, or do you have to sell items separately from the Back Banner in order for their value to be increased? Also, does the increased value apply to the Back Banner itself? |

Re: Munchkin Fu Back Banner
Interesting question. Usually, you can't discard a card to power its own effect, but in this case, you are selling the Back Banner at its listed value of 200 Gold Pieces. I'd thus definitely say that you can't sell the Back Banner at a worth of 400 Gold Pieces but I'm torn on whether to accept it to be sold normally in the same sale where you are increasing other Items' prices.
Given that all the Items are sold simultaneously, though, I'm tempted to say that you can't do this. |

Re: Munchkin Fu Back Banner
This is like discarding a Class card to power that Class's ability -- not kosher. The Back Banner gives you the benefit as long as you're using it; if you're selling it, you aren't using it anymore.
