GURPS Vorkosigan PDF released TODAY

Oh, Steve. This isn't funny even as an April Fool's joke, like that supposed "4th Edition" of GURPS you announced a few years back. I'm not going to get fooled again.

I know, I know. But after such a long production cycle you can't blame me for being a little punch drunk at the idea of finally being able to read the thing.

It's 240-pages long and packed. And I understand completely. After all, this is a project that was almost finished when I left SJGames in 2004. When I came back in 2007 one of my first projects was a little work on this same book. That was weird.

FYI: SJ didn't write the DI announcement; I did. And if SJ has stated it elsewhere, well, then you've got independent confirmation.

Plus, I just looked at the PDF. Looks ready to me. Now, paperwork.

I just came home to an email telling me I'd been given a complimentary copy of the PDF. I was a playtester way back before the Time of Isolation. 8-)}

At this point I doubt I'll remember much of what I said back then, but just offhand it looks like they fixed Lady Alys's wealth level and the odd pattern of weapon skills for Barryaran officers vs. enlisted men became moot when everything was rolled into the "Beam Weapons" skills.
