Realistically, the main issue with armor against falls is that when you hit the ground, your armor stops but your body keeps going until it hits the armor, and then your internal organs keep going until counterpressure from your flesh stops them from moving. A force field is potentially rather helpful here, depending on its specific properties (in particular, if it extends outwards from his skin, it functions as padding and reduces the peak impact force), though if he hits feet-first and decelerates perfectly he's still going to be exposed to 15+ Gs to the torso and 10+ to the brain, which should cause at least temporary loss of consciousness.
You know, this post helped me a lot.

Since the device amplifies the wearers Kirlian field to act as a physical barrier, it is not like other high-tech force screens that are completely external to the wearer.

So, it seems tha the full DR applies.

Keep in mind how that affects the setting, if that type of belt field tech allows base diving from skyscrapers without ill effects, then people will have been doing it as common practice...

It's a weird science device, they probably aren't widespread.

Keep in mind that once the user runs out of FT, he runs out of DR. With the Mk I an average person could stop 80 points of damage over a short span before passing out.

Only two exist in the campaign.
