Default Wizard Staff Tacticool Accessories

OK, this deserves its own thread.

Let's list some cool accessories to add to your wizard's staff.

Orb of Power - (This is a powerstone or power item.)

Eagle Feathers of the Fair Wind - +1 Acc with air college spells

Dangly Crystal Focus - These small protuberances allow you to really focus on the target of a missile spell. Treat as a scope.

Broom Bristles - Increases aerobatics skill by 2. Also allows you to sweep up messes.

Ominous Glowing Runes - Provide a dim source of light at will. Can say anything you want in any language you want, but for reasons of tradition they usually are a relatively boring shopping list (1 lb barley flour, sausage, cheese, duck's eggs) in Old Enochian.

Leather Thong Wrappings - this is 10' of leather cord if you need some.

A sling, so that you can hang the staff over a shoulder and have both hands free. The actual sling appears and disappears as you need it, or don't.

Crackling with energy
The staff seems to be barely containing the power within, Adds to +2 to intimidation rolls.

Illusionary Quill
The staff can be used to write or draw temporary illusionary letters and images. Useful for writing fiery messages as well as adding diagrams to aid in explaining complex plans to slow witted companions.

Vertical orientation
Left to it's own devices the staff will orient itself to stand vertically. This makes picking it up when dropped or put aside easier.

Tangential action
Rather than expelling effects directly from the tip of the staff the effects are produced at a right angle. Useful for tight spaces and for firing spells from behind cover.

Quick change Claw
Allows the user to change the crystal mounted in the claw at the end of the staff.

Picatinny Rail Mount
Attaches with screws, allowing sights, grips, and other devices to be added to your staff.

The player of Henrietta, a character in my Facets campaign, would so go for this, if she thought of it.

It would have to be made of bronze or aluminum, though. Iron glitches magic, in the setting.

The Chunk-Chunk. The staff is hollow but contains a simple mechanical feeder that moves one point power stones to the base of the staff where they can be used, with the old stone ejected making a "chunk" noise as you operate the mechanism.

A mage named Aldehar the Incendiary in my World of D'y'r't game actually did put a laser sight on his Staff.

A rifled bore, an ammo clip, and a bump stock for those times when you wander into a low mana zone.

Chameleon Skin Wrapping: The staff is wrapped in magically vitalized chameleon skin that allows it to change its color, giving bonus to camouflage it.

Wand Compartment: A small payload inside one of the ends of the staff, enough to fit a backup wand in case the staff breaks.

Tactical Paut Carrier: Like a side carrier, but for vials of Paut.

GriffinBak: Not really an addon for a staff, but a bladder filled with Paut and worn as backup, with a straw for easy access while in combat.

Bayonet Socket: Simple socket to attach a bayonet, allowing to use the staff as spear.

Or just give the staff a scythe blade.
