Agreed! This is "a rising tide lifts all boats" approach, where a low buy-in helps attract more eyes/interest. And getting more eyes on GURPS is _always_ a great thing.

My newest personal project isn't _quite_ the same approach, but the $1 for a 52-page PDF model definitely attracts eyes.

I ran a campaign last fall that got close to 2,000 backers that is closer in concept to the GURPS campaign. I'm hoping that this upcoming GURPS campaign can clear 1,000 supporters, but that only happens if we can get more eyes on the system as well as on the project.

Please share the link! We are now over 500 project followers:

From today's Daily Illuminator post:

For a $3 pledge, you'll get one GURPS PDF. As stretch goals are unlocked, we add titles to that $3 pledge. If all goes well and all of the stretch goals are unlocked, then your $3 pledge will land you a dozen 10-page GURPS PDFs.

The project is for PDFs only – no print rewards – and there are only three reward levels:
  • $3 - You get all unlocked PDFs.
  • $30 - You get all unlocked PDFs and $30 in credit to spend in BackerKit on existing GURPS PDFs.
  • $99 - You get all unlocked PDFs and $125 in credit to spend in BackerKit on existing GURPS PDFs.

Please click the green "notify me" button on this page to receive email notification when the project goes live in July!

Can we unlock all twelve PDFs before the clock runs out?

This is freaking brilliant. At the "less than a cup of coffee" price point, it is a no-brainer for every GURPS fan. I will be able to get my entire gaming group to pitch in on this kind of thing at that price point.

More importantly, it means that there is no Kickstarter fatigue, which is a real problem for many. I just backed Phil's project at $3 because...why not? And that is powerful. (I don't even GM fantasy games.)

Thanks! We certainly hope that all GURPS players and GMs will join in the project when it launches next month.

(And thank you!)

I have never previously backed anything on Kickstarter, or elsewhere, that wasn't GURPS or DFRPG related. But your's look interesting philreed, so while I'm waiting for the next GURPS campaign, I backed yours at the $28 level.
