Honestly, I love running GURPS, but it can be difficult to convince people to play the game, especially with 5e sucking the air out of the room. It was easier 20 years ago, when WoD was beating the stuffing out of D&D, because you could convince people to play more sophisticated games. It was easier even 10 years ago, as Pathfinder was stealing D&D's lunch, and you could convince people who had abandoned D&D for Pathfinder to take a chance with GURPS. Unfortunately, 5e WoD and 2e Pathfinder are not really interesting enough to compete with D&D 5e, so it is difficult to get new people into GURPS.

Yep, that's been my general experience. If you're willing to run anything, they're willing to play, but otherwise, it's D&D 5E and nothing else today. Unless you encounter some "true freaks" that consider anything outside that bubble to be an actual rpg, but it's generally like the 70's again. If it's not D&D, it's not Ran PG...
Then SJG encourages 3-binder-printing again _ makes me wonder about their motives. ;)

I'm in W0tC's backyard. 4-out-of-5 games being run around me are 5th Edition D&D.
