OK, I'm thinking that the vote will be closed on Wednesday, so if anyone wants to vote but hasn't, please do so soon.

Re: [Psionics] [Space] Psi Trek - Worldbuilding
Cidi government question I
What sort of government do the Cidi have? Note that the options may be combined (e.g. '4 and 7' would be a feudal representative democracy, or '6 and 8' a corporate theocracy). 1. Technocracy 2. Oligarchy 3. Dictatorship 4. Representative democracy 5. Athenian democracy (probably via the internet) 6. Corporate state 7. Feudal (probably in combination with something else) 8. Theocracy 9. Clan/tribal 10. Caste (probably in combination with something else) 11. No planetary nor species-wide government 12. Something else (In case anyone doesn't know or isn't sure, an absolute monarchy is a dictatorship, but a constitutional monarchy could be just about anything, depending on how much power the constitution gives the monarch, and how the rest of the political power is arranged or accessed. Likewise, an oligarchy might well be some sort of meritocracy, or be combined with a technocracy; it's not necessarily a military junta or group of senior aristocrats.) Please include the number(s) of your preferred option(s) when you vote. Depending on the results, there may be another vote or two to narrow things down. EDIT: The closest thing to a consensus seems to be 'a pretty loose alliance that exists mainly to give the Cidi a unified front to face the galaxy with.'

7 + 4: Feudal Representative Democracy. The Cidi have a federally organized species-wide government composed of individual star systems. Local matters are mainly attended by the systems, while foreign affairs are handled by the central government.
A good followup question would be whether they have an American or a Parliamentary style democracy. |

1) technocracy. If they walk around in exo-suits, that means they've really embraced tech.
As a secondary choice, 11) no single government.

Re: [Psionics] [Space] Psi Trek - Worldbuilding
OK, so, two votes for Feudal something (but different somethings), one for no planetary government, and one for technocracy with no planetary government as a secondary option. That's not much of a consensus.
What we have so far leans toward something like 'a pretty loose alliance that exists mainly to give the Cidi a unified front to face the galaxy with.' If that's acceptable, we can go with it, and the next question will most likely be something related to the Great Powers of the Cidi culture, or how many systems they rule (probably the latter, with a question of how many are colonies rather than polities/member states of their own, and the Great Powers thing being a later question). Vote remains open, BTW.

I'm not exactly which way to vote as I have no clue who these guys are. Sorry.
