Thanks for the confirmation... I understand that you have customers that value lots of worked examples.

And the Chinese five-elements system has interesting nuances that seemed worth exploring for their own sake.

I hope it does well for you and SJGAMES!

It's what we creators of game manuals call the "writer's lifestyle." I'm fortunate that my wife's special skill set includes "knowing the odd-lots consignment grocers," though I think that's only a useful skill in a dense inner-city kind of place.

Yeah, I get most of my food from urban farming, fishing, and bartering my tech skills to my neighbors who in turn give me chicken, eggs, or deer meat from their hunts. I was clamming and fishing for a while as well, but it got too cold. That said, we have those odd consignment places here too and a good chunk of my food comes from there as well (just not as much as growing or the like). :-)

Edit: The money I do spend on bought food is stuff I can't get or make (sugar-substitutes, milk, flour, and the like)

I'm thinking of cracking open my copy of Qin: The Warring States to mine their suggested peers and elixirs for GURPS. I could try posting conversions of fun stats here if I have time.

I just banged out a article on Taoist-style alchemy last night using Thaumatology: Chinese Elemental Powers as a base. It needs work, but doesn't look too bad.

If you would like it reviewed, PM me and I'll send you my e-mail address.

I'd like that very much. I still need to put it through some more alpha-testing (i.e., let my players bash the hell out of it in game), but your input would be fantastic. Thank you. :-)

Sorry for the thread bump, but was there any further development on the Taoist-style alchemy system?

It's been put in the Vault for now. No more Pyramid means no more short items and it's not over 6000 words. Sorry.

Okay, at least it exists and may someday be produced.
