EDIT: The M551 turret is a little more than 3/8 inches long and I think it looks about right. I took a photo of it; I’ll see if I can get a link up in the morning. Last edited by tbeard1999; 01-29-2018 at 05:59 PM. |

Re: Size Comparison HVY against Modern Armor
I look forward to seeing it!
Edit: Ugh, the only Sheridans I can find are at Noble Knight. I'm grumpy at them right now. Re-edit: Duh, GHQ has their own webshop. I'll buy direct, if these fit. Last edited by ColBosch; 01-29-2018 at 10:01 PM. |

Re: Size Comparison HVY against Modern Armor
Ah, so close, but yeah, it does look a bit too small for me. The shape is perfect to my eyes, though.

Re: Size Comparison HVY against Modern Armor
Yes indeed. And I think the original version is a much better looking model than the current heavy tank. As I mentioned, I never bought any of the metal PE heavy tanks because I thought they were ugly. That box turret just doesn’t do it for me.
EDIT - Here’s a link to a catalog showing Grenadier Ogre/GEV minis. Note that the line art of the missile tank has the missile launcher facing to the rear. It actually looks pretty good from the side. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N3CxbGmwhj...Catalog+44.jpg Last edited by tbeard1999; 01-31-2018 at 09:49 PM. |

Re: Size Comparison HVY against Modern Armor
The box turret also looks weird if you rotate it - you have these sharp corners sticking out, a bad shot trap for those who note such things.
I too have always preferred the originial Winch designs, and the original counter silhouettes. If you look closely the GEV silhouette also differs from the model, and the MSL silhouette is differently proportioned. |
