I’ll check later, but the turret for the Heavy Tank is very small.

EDIT: The M551 turret is a little more than 3/8 inches long and I think it looks about right. I took a photo of it; I’ll see if I can get a link up in the morning.

I look forward to seeing it!

Edit: Ugh, the only Sheridans I can find are at Noble Knight. I'm grumpy at them right now.

Re-edit: Duh, GHQ has their own webshop. I'll buy direct, if these fit.

Here's a top view.

Here's a side view; I don't know why it was so blurry, but it gives an idea of the look:

Ah, so close, but yeah, it does look a bit too small for me. The shape is perfect to my eyes, though.

Yeah, I think I agree. I compared it to the original art and the 1/285 Sheridan Turret is too small. I’ll pull some of my modern Soviet MBTs and see if their turrets might work. And maybe an AMX-30. Also here’s a 1/200 Sheridan that might have some potential:

So I looked at the original Metagaming counters for Ogre - https://boardgamegeek.com/image/4411...?size=original

Their Heavy Tank counter has the silhouette of the alternate version http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OeAFWCHThu...er_48_0024.jpg

You mean it has the correct *original* version. ;-)

Yes indeed. And I think the original version is a much better looking model than the current heavy tank. As I mentioned, I never bought any of the metal PE heavy tanks because I thought they were ugly. That box turret just doesn’t do it for me.

EDIT - Here’s a link to a catalog showing Grenadier Ogre/GEV minis. Note that the line art of the missile tank has the missile launcher facing to the rear. It actually looks pretty good from the side.

The box turret also looks weird if you rotate it - you have these sharp corners sticking out, a bad shot trap for those who note such things.

I too have always preferred the originial Winch designs, and the original counter silhouettes. If you look closely the GEV silhouette also differs from the model, and the MSL silhouette is differently proportioned.

Yep.

Here’s a link to artwork from the Japanese printing of Ogre. Some different takes on the PE units.
