[LT/DF] Sets of Armor
Using Bruno's table for pieces, I've come up with a few "sets" of armor. The in-universe explanation is that armorsmiths are more likely to sell the armors as sets rather than piecemeal, particularly stuff that can be bought "off the rack", such as mail suits, or are custom jobs, such as full plate armors.
My main concern is that I might have missed a few common sets of armor, or that I've given some sets incorrect pieces. (No idea if Low-Tech has anything similar, but these might work well in a Fantasy setting, particularly one set in a Renaissance-like era or a Dungeon Fantasy setting.) Civilian (this suit is included in the standard wardrobe everyone gets for free) Leather Jacket (DR 1*, torso, arms) Leather Pants (DR 1*, groin, legs) Sturdy Hat (DR 1*, skull) Cloth Gloves (DR 0, hands) or Leather Gloves (DR 1*, hands) Sandals (DR 0, feet) or Shoes (DR 1*, feet) Weight: 8.95 lbs w/ cloth gloves and sandals, 10.5 w/ leather gloves and shoes Light Leather ($210) Light Leather Armor (DR 1, torso, groin) Light Leather Leggings (DR 1, legs) Light Leather Sleeves (DR 1, arms) Sturdy Hat (DR 1*, skull) Leather Gloves (DR 1*, hands) Shoes (DR 1*, feet) Weight: 15.5 lbs Leather ($355) Leather Armor (DR 2, torso, groin) Leather Sleeves (DR 2, arms) Leather Leggings (DR 2, legs) Leather Hood (DR 2, skull, neck) Leather Gloves (DR 1*, hands) Ankle Boots (DR 2*, feet) Weight: 30.25 lbs Heavy Leather ($580) Heavy Leather Armor (DR 3, torso, groin) Heavy Leather Leggings (DR 3, legs) Heavy Leather Sleeves (DR 3, arms) Heavy Leather Hood (DR 3, skull, neck) Heavy Leather Gloves (DR 2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 52.25 lbs Light Scale ($835) Light Scale Hauberk (DR 3, torso, groin) Light Scale Leggings (DR 3, legs) Light Scale Sleeves (DR 3, arms) Heavy Leather Hood (DR 3, skull, neck) Heavy Leather Gloves (DR 2*, hands) Ankle Boots (DR 2*, feet) Weight: 42 lbs Mail ($980) Mail Hauberk (DR 4/2*, torso, groin) Mail Leggings (DR 4/2*, legs) Mail Sleeves (DR 4/2*, arms) Mail Coif (DR 4/2*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 40.75 lbs Note: Mail is sometimes referred to as "chain" armor (the term "chainmail" is needlessly redundant). Scale ($1,290) Scale Hauberk (DR 4, torso, groin) Scale Leggings (DR 4, legs) Scale Sleeves (DR 4, arms) Legionary Helmet (DR 4, skull, face) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 58.25 lbs Heavy Mail ($1,290) Double Mail Hauberk (DR 5/3*, torso, groin) Double Mail Leggings (DR 5/3*, legs) Double Mail Sleeves (DR 5/3*, arms) Double Mail Coif (DR 5/3*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 55.25 lbs Banded ($2,330) Banded Corselet (DR 5, torso, groin) Banded Legs (DR 5, legs) Banded Arms (DR 5, arms) Legionary Helmet (DR 4, skull, face) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 54.75 lbs Note: Banded armor is not used that often any more, since the development of plate armor, but may be found on display in various strongholds. Plate-and-Chain, Option 1 ($1,685) Mail Hauberk (DR 4/2*, torso, groin) Breastplate (DR 6F, torso) Mail Leggings (DR 4/2*, legs) Mail Sleeves (DR 4/2*, arms) Mail Coif (DR 4/2*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 51.25 lbs Plate-and-Chain, Option 2 ($1,995) Double Mail Hauberk (DR 5/3*, torso, groin) Breastplate (DR 6F, torso) Double Mail Leggings (DR 5/3*, legs) Double Mail Sleeves (DR 5/3*, arms) Double Mail Coif (DR 5/3*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 66.75 lbs Plate-and-Chain, Option 3 ($2,330) Steel Corselet (DR 7, torso, groin) Mail Leggings (DR 4/2*, legs) Mail Sleeves (DR 4/2*, arms) Mail Coif (DR 4/2*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 51.75 lbs Plate-and-Chain, Option 4 ($2,490) Steel Corselet (DR 7, torso, groin) Double Mail Leggings (DR 5/3*, legs) Double Mail Sleeves (DR 5/3*, arms) Double Mail Coif (DR 5/3*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 58.75 lbs Plate-and-Chain, Option 5 ($3,290) Heavy Steel Corselet (DR 8, torso, groin) Double Mail Leggings (DR 5/3*, legs) Double Mail Sleeves (DR 5/3*, arms) Double Mail Coif (DR 5/3*, skull, neck) Mail Gloves (DR 4/2*, hands) Calf Boots (DR 2*, feet, partial legs) Weight: 61.75 lbs Plate ($4,885) Steel Corselet (DR 7, torso, groin) Plate Legs (DR 7, legs) Plate Arms (DR 7, arms) Bascinet (DR 7, skull) Gorget (DR 7, neck) Greathelm (DR +2, skull, face) Plate Gauntlets (DR 6, hands, partial arms) Sollerets (DR 5, feet) Weight: 69.5 lbs Heavy Plate ($6,370) Heavy Steel Corselet (DR 8, torso, groin) Heavy Plate Legs (DR 8, legs) Heavy Plate Arms (DR 8, arms) Bascinet (DR 7, skull) Heavy Gorget (DR 8, neck) Heavy Greathelm (DR +3, skull, face) Plate Gauntlets (DR 6, hands, partial arms) Heavy Sollerets (DR 6, feet) Weight: 78 lbs

Re: [LT/DF] Sets of Armor
Thank you for this, makes it easier on me, and I'm hoping many others.

Re: [LT/DF] Sets of Armor
Do you have total weights for the sets (to go with the costs)? If not, I can obviously scratch them together myself, but why duplicate work? :D

I initially avoided giving weights to the armor sets, due to the many "this armor is too heavy!" arguments that inevitably spring up when weight comes into play. Edit: Armor set weights added.

Re: [LT/DF] Sets of Armor
Wow! It is like you read my mind. I sat down to do this very thing today (using Bruno's table) for a new game I'm running. Thanks!

Re: [LT/DF] Sets of Armor
You have some sets with a breastplate and a hauberk, how does that work?

Re: [LT/DF] Sets of Armor
I like buying armor piecemeal, since it allows more flexibility, but with gamers who's brains are scorched by D&D this makes life easier. I'll probably copy/paste it, clean it up some, and repost it (with your permission) in that format and maybe even see if it's possible to make GCA templates of equipment. (If it is, that would make my life as a GM hella easier.)
Edit: Done, it's not like it was rocket science to do. My biggest thing after a quick going-over is that I like to allow players who want to just wearing "Standard Clothing" to be able to do so for only like 2 pounds. (Like a Wizard or Cleric in robes, a Thief wanting to be as light as possible, etc.)

Re: [LT/DF] Sets of Armor
In those cases, the breastplate is worn over the hauberk. Those sets use the "layering armor" rules.
