IIRC the 50 caliber MG Miller used didn't have a fussy aiming system but eye-shooting with iron sights was a difficult activity. You have to lead the target by about a football field and it's not really intuitive. [So I've read -- I haven't done it.] So it's quite possible he never hit anything at all. However, the USN concluded that he rated a Navy Cross; since they were closer to the event than I who am I to question? |

Re: Game: Guess the (historical) character!
The most likely candidate for the ol' Hapsburg Jaw would be a Hapsburg, of course! A quick consultation with the internets suggests Emperor Charles II of Spain as a fine example.

Probably a better example than I had in mind - which was his great great grandfather Emperor Charles V. Your turn!

I didn't know what prognathism was and the dictionary didn't tell me. I should have thought of using the wiki.

Edit: and the gene(s) for prognathism did apparently enter the Hapsburg line via a Polish noblewoman - maybe John Paul II was related to them to more than the usual degree among humans when one goes back so far. Last edited by trans; 12-21-2011 at 09:29 AM. |

Right then, here we go, as presented at roughly the apex of his career:
TL 4 Likely high IQ, above-average otherwise (although later in life suffered a severe decline in health and physical attributes). Military Rank (At least 8) Status likely in the 4-5 range Engineer (Combat) Gunner (Cannons) Leadership Soldier Tactics (Land) |
