Question Regarding Brain In A Jar Idea
Greetings, I'm rather new to GURPS and was hoping to get some advice/help from the forums.
My friends and I will be playing a Reich-5ish type of setting with Nazis and superscience, psychics, and all kinds of shenanigans. Our GM wants us to build characters at the 350 - 400 points level. The character I'm trying to build is the psychic brain in a jar type character. I've got some ideas like a reduced Strength score, Damage Resistance to represent an armored "jar" and psychic force fields, No Sense of Smell/Taste, lots of TK, Flight, etc. I've got the basics of the character build, I'm just hoping for some suggestions and such from people with more experience with GURPS than I have. Thanks beforehand. |

Re: Question Regarding Brain In A Jar Idea
Appearance (Hideous)
No Legs (Aerial) Dependency (Nutrient Bath, Common [assuming you have a few back up jars], Constantly) --Doesn't Breath --Doesn't Eat or Drink --- Because the nutrients in the jar are all you need Minor Delusion (Bodies are for Suckers) Cannot Speak (Mute) either with (Mitigator: Voice Box -50%) or Telesend. Sealed Longevity or Unaging because you have no vital systems that can fail |

Re: Question Regarding Brain In A Jar Idea
An alternative to Doesn't Eat or Drink is Increased Consumption 9 [-90] and Restricted Diet (Blood Plasma Substitute, Occasional) [-30] and make the nutrient fluids vital to survival - starvation in minutes*.
Maybe have the TK Perk of running an air pump for your fluids, ie Doesn't Breathe (Oxygen Absorption, -25%) [15] - no fluid = suffocation. He needs his fluids:) *see Transhuman Space - Changing Times, page 57, for the cybershell brain implant behind the idea.

Von Klempt's write-up from Hellboy would be helpful, I'm sure. I should look for my copy :/

Hey.

1) If you use Flight, be sure to slap the PK -10% limitation on there if you want things that nerf his TK to drop him like a rock, and be sure not to if you don't. An alternative method that you may want to consider would be to give him at least one level of limited powers-only Compartmentalized Mind so he can maneuver himself and manipulate things with his TK at the same time. 2) Stay awesome.
