Default Speculating on RPK's new GURPS supplements

So far, this is what he has Twittered:

(17dec2011) #1: Doc
(18dec2011) Types of Doc: 1. Chemist, 2. Herbalist, 3. Medic, 4. Shrink
(19dec2011) #2: Hulk
(20dec2011) Types of Hulk: 1. Bruiser, 2. Heavy Gunner, 3-4. Melee Generalist/Specialist.
(21dec2011) #3: Hunter
(22dec2011) Types of Hunter: 1. Scout, 2. Sniper, 3. Sojourner, 4. Survivor
(23dec2011) 4. Nomad
(24dec2011) Types of nomad: 1-8. Driver (Various), 9-10. Rider (Lone/Team)
(25dec2011) 5. Scavenger
(26dec2011) Types of Scavenger: 1. Ghost, 2. Looter, 3. Thief, 4. Urban Explorer.
(27dec2011) #6. Tech
(28dec2011) Types of Tech: 1. Inventor, 2. Repairman, 3. Scientist, 4. Technophile

I don't have a good guess, other than that it appears to be some sort of modern setting, with "medic," "shrink," "heavy gunner" and "driver." There's a "ghost" as a Scavenger type, but that doesn't strike me as anything supernatural in context (I could see it as a scavenger that takes things without a trace, like a dryer takes socks), and that's the only remote hint of the supernatural in these so far.

Zombie Apoc is a type of Post Apoc, IMO. Seemed to be the consensus on the thread about the next supplement in the Action/MH/DF theme.

Yeah, it's definitely some variant of post apocalypse. I figured it was a Fallout-esque setting - not sure where you got zombie apocalypse from, though that'd be fun too.

Sorry, I did not mean to sound argumentative. I just looked at what was posted and felt that it was more "Zombie Apoc" than generic "Post Apoc." I otherwise agree with you, so mea culpa.

Didn't mean to sound argumentative myself. My understanding from the thread on post-apoc was that "zombie" was a type of apocalypse according to the powers that be. Which suits me just fine.

If it's akin to the other games in the grab-and-go line, then it wouldn't have a setting per se. I also doubt it would be zombie apocalypse, but post-apocalpyse that could have zombies. Or cars; GURPS Car Wars 4e sounds fun.

Just like the other grab-and-go lines, I'm almost certain it will have a default setting. The default setting for Dungeon Fantasy is a generally low-tech, TL3ish fantasy setting with magic and gods and dungeons to loot, the default setting for Action is TL8 near-reality, and the default setting for MH is TL8 wainscot fantasy.

I wouldn't be surprised if that default setting doesn't include zombie-like creatures, but I'd be surprised if that default setting specified that was the only apocalyptic item - I fully expect it to include radiation hazards and the like as well.

Those aren't settings in my book, more assumptions, but suum cuique. I'm sure there will be zombies, but no special assumption that the PCs will be fighting them, since many such post-apoc fictional worlds do not feature them.

Incidentally, I'm hoping the supplement is something radically different from post-apoc. It's too near to Action and MH, almost their nexus. But it is a likely interpretation.
