GUAL cards are not Items. Normally, the only cards you can put into play and keep in play after they are played are Races, Classes, Items, and Treasure cards that give a persistent combat bonus (e.g.,
Hireling). Items very specifically must have a gold piece value on them, which includes the phrase "No Value." I can not currently recall an Item which says it is worth 0 GP.
