Games with only prepare and play
There are lots of games with prepare- gather resources and then play do thing phases repeated over and over until the game has some end condition but do any board/card games just have those two phases once each with the phases each being much larger and then an end of game phase? Are they fun? Please tell a little of how they work. Maybe they have a little of possible to occasionally gather resources during the play phase.

Re: Games with only prepare and play
A hand of bridge is divided into a bidding phase (preparation) and a trick-taking phase (play). This probably isn't what you're looking for, though.

Since you play more than one hand of bridge per game, wouldn't that fall under the pattern they initially described, of prepare and play phases repeated over and over?

Tradditionnals wargames with a setup phase and a battle phase (with sometimes reinforcements possibles.)
In a way, Talisman: you reinforce your character until you feel you are ready for an inner run. Last edited by Celjabba; 05-06-2017 at 09:32 AM. |
