i never use minatures.

I once made some miniatures for a Horatio Club type campaign using Shrinky-Dinks. I'm a cartoonist and it seemed the easiest way to make my own. I never actually used them in play, though, because our table was always to cluttered with munchies to fit a battle map.

That said, Shrinky-Dinks might be a possible way to make a conveyor miniature. You will need some trial and error to get the scale right with your other figures, and you will need to cut slits in the plastic in order to insert cross-pieces so that the Dinks will stand.

Come to think of it, cutting and folding something out of stiff cardstock might be easier after all.
