Maya-10 was originally glossed over in the Maya-12 discussion. However, something about it caught my attention, and I felt I needed to expand upon it.

Located in Q4, Maya-10 is a world which appears at first glance to be one completely abandoned by humanity. The cities of the world are still standing, large and small alike, as are many towns, villages, hamlets, and isolated structures. Indeed, the departure appears to be fairly recent, as there is no apparent destruction of buildings by natural forces. The date of diversion was set at 21 December 2012 based on the most recent newspapers that have been discovered; computers accessed indicate that the buildings have stood empty for about 5 years, placing the local date some time around 2017.

When Infinity first discovered the world, they classified it for exploration with an eye on opening it up to colonization. After a few days, though, one exploration team returned, scared and several members short. Their report read like the summary of a B-grade horror movie: the other exploration team sent in with them were possessed by what were called "ghosts" - although the actual classification used in official reports is "entity" - and violently attacked the team that returned. Worse, when the exploration team that returned reported that they had resorted to lethal force in order to survive, the entities released by the deaths of the other team started possessing their own comrades! It is not known how many entities exist, what their ultimate motivation is, or even what their true nature is. Hypotheses abound.

Maya-10 is currently considered a Weird Parallel, closed to all except I-SWAT - and even they only go there when absolutely necessary.
