Default Car and Driver: Bear Spotters Guide

The December 2012 issue of Car and Driver magazine, featuring a yellow Viper on the front cover, has an article titled "Bear Spotters Guide." This article lists graphics of highway patrol vehicles in all 50 states. It also includes the models used by each state, and whether vehicles are equipped with radar and/or laser. Such an article would be a good one for a Car Wars magazine.

Damn, I was hoping it would give recommendations as to good places to see grizzlies and the like, particularly as I'll be visiting the western states in about 6 months time.

The best place to see a grizzly bear is as a recorded image or series of video frames on a page or display of some kind.

If it can smell you, you're too dang close. :)

Head to Kodiak, Alaska, during the salmon runs, or Denali National park, same time.

Heck, apply for the tags, and take one home with you! (I know a hunting guide... Heck, I also suspect he'd be willing to, for the same prices, take one on a photo-hunt...)

My first thought was someone trying to collect speeding tickets from all 50 states.

Oh yeah, out on trails with 4 wheeler, ya might not want to go un armed. If ya gotta put em down, ya call in authorities, the prisoners still need roadkill. Only if youre in dire danger. Those thangs can run/jump 35 feet a jump. Moose with cubs also, ya dont wanna be unprepared.
And... unliterally, i look through AADA Road Atlas & Survival Guides when i go a role playing travelling. I just use Ego Warrior in my 2060 Mercury Cruiser Interceptor to pick up any resulting fines. That is for my 18 wheeler business rpg ing. Have more fun, theres more cake.

Also from above...in Alaska, where nature always calls. I had a moose cub gaurd trail, so i used air horn to scare poor trail hogger away so i could get home. They defend their trails. Bears are more scarce, but Watch Out!!
