Additional destinations frequently traveled to from the local station include oil producing city Ploiesti; the small city of Pitesti; and the affluent Romanian tourist city, Sibiu, with an international airport that has daily flights to many European countries. So, the question is, "Infiltration, or exfiltration?"

Arizona has the Chief Mine Inspector as an elected position. In 2014 there was no organized opposition to the incumbent but there was 18,000 write ins. Some of those were probably for Ian Kobe. He had an interesting campaign slogan.
"A vote for Ian Kobe is a vote for an AZ with less Draculas!" [sic] and laments that children cannot play in abandoned copper mines because Joe Hart has not cleaned out the vampire dens. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WhoKjxtqMB...in%2Bmines.jpg |

This is interesting to know, though presumably the backup would be an intercept by helicopter.

Tell you what, though, one thing has become perfectly clear from all this. Somebody wanted to get to Transylvania, badly.

They certainly took a circuitous route to get there - Hungary (next door to Romania) north through Slovakia into Poland, then back south presumably over Romania and finally landing in Bulgaria... which while it's also next door to Romania, is actually further from the Transylvania region. Unless the plane dropped off a passenger while flying over Romania... Was it over that airspace after sundown, perchance?

Reading Wilkinson's _A World Beneath the Sands_ on early Egyptology and came across Napoleon's savants -- a corps of young experts (youngest was 15, average age 25) that came with an expedition to Egypt. Feels like a campaign seed to me:

From theprepared's newsletter
A rocket wrench is a tool used to disarm bombs, composed of two explosive charges arranged around a chuck. The user attaches the device to the part they wish to unscrew and then fires the charges, producing high torque from a safe distance. Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot has found a job patrolling the ruins of Pompeii. |

Developed for the UK Ministry of Defence. I'm guessing the designer is the grandson of the guy that brought us the Panjandrum for invading Fortress Europa.
