No save in skirmish mode?

I just finished two custom maps; Mega City and Mars Rebels or Mars Rebellion, and wanted to save, but discovered I couldn't. Was this intentional, or is it a feature that's going to be added later on?

Hey :)

There is a save in Skirmish mode, however you need to wait for the enemy to complete a turn before you can save. So the option is grayed out during AI turn.
