Well, that's certainly depressing. Impossible's a good set and, IMO, works better as a standalone than some of the other core sets. But it seems to have never found its audience. I'd hate to think that there are people holding off on buying it because it doesn't have an expansion.

There are certainly stores that still have it, but yes, officially it's out of stock. We're discussing a reprint for later 2010, but don't have anything official to announce on that front. (We've got a LOT of reprints on the schedule this year. We also have a number of new sets. It's going to be a good year to be a Munchkin fan!)

Pity. I got it in early December and played it as a party game a few times over the holidays. Much fun.

...though it might have something to do with the fact that everyone playing it was old enough to remember the Cold War and the heyday of spy films which Impossible skewers so well...

It would be particularly ironic if the number of people who'd buy it if it had an expansion would pass the critical threshold to justify an expansion...

I'm not surprised though, Espionage isn't the most popular game genre (and I'm actually surprised that apparently TGTBTM did so much better, as I'd think westerns to be even less so). I've always wondered if a Delta-Green/Laundry/Declare based expansion for Cthulhu would sell and if so could it be a backdoor expansion for Impossible (by including lots of Guns, Vehicles and cards with Loyalty interactions).

Time Well Spent still has a copy of Blender in stock. That's where I buy my games (unless I get them directly from Warehouse23).

I'll admit that no expansions put both Impossible and TGTBTM at the bottom of the list for us to get, but we knew we were going to them eventually. I know I prefer the expansion to go with it so the monsters are evened up.

With that said, we all actually really, really like TGTBTM and Impossible. Both are generally one of the first ones we grab now (and we have every set).

The Good, the Bad, and the Munchkin and Munchkin Impossible work well together on account of both having guns.

Lol the anticipation is killing me. This is the second thread I've seen you hint at new sets and what not and I...I...I just can't wait. Why must you toy with us so? lol

Because I'm evil.

But as long as I'm pimping things, in addition to the late March re-release of Fairy Dust and Waiting For Santa, definitely check out Cthulhu Dice and Zombie Dice. They're great games, loads of fun for big groups, and they play in half an hour or less (CD much less). The perfect thing to haul out to cleanse the palate between games of Munchkin.
