Need help with Damage Reduction-like Damage Resistance
What value of limitation on Damage Resistance do people think the following modifiers would be?
i) Cannot reduce damage below 1/2 incoming. ii) Cannot reduce damage below 1/4 incoming. iii) Cannot reduce damage below 1 point. |

Re: Need help with Damage Reduction-like Damage Resistance
Just to be sure I understand what you asking for:
Say you buy DR:20 and are attacked for 16 damage. i) you still take 8 damage. ii) you still take 4 damage. iii) you still take 1 damage Correct? Really good question and interesting effect. I am not sure at all. iii) is about on level with making it flexible. Its better as it's only ever 1 dam. but worse as it's still 1 penetrating which makes poison attack and the like deadly. So maybe about -20%? ii) is a severe disad, as, at low DR you usually have lost points-total and even a little damage is usually problematic. But at a higher DR 1/4 dam is still a lot, especially after wounding modifiers. Maybe -40%? i) This is very severe. Only being able to cut damage in half is not very good, but unsure exactly how good. Maybe -60%. Sorry I can't give more fitting numbers :/ |

Re: Need help with Damage Reduction-like Damage Resistance
Flexible is a less-severe version of 'Can't Reduce Damage Below 1/5' - it's really 1/5 for Crushing attacks, 1/10 for Cutting, etc, I think; it's a -20% modifier. Maybe -30% for 'Can't Reduce Below 1/5' in general, which would make 1/4 maybe -40% and 1/2 maybe -60%.
