Default How does ISWAT respond to a PC receiving hero worship?

A good example of this would be Adam Strange from the DC Comics. He's average on his own world, but a planet wide recognized hero on Rann. Would ISWAT try to stop this from happening, and if it has happened, what would they do about it?

I'd think they'd encourage it to a reasonable extent. Watch THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE for details.

I think it would depend.

But since most ISWAT missions are covert and the agents are supposed to blend in...sounds like something went really wrong.

I think the on-world situation would be fine. One potential issue, though, is covering up the existence of that world so that ISWAT's activities are not revealed. Alternatively, they could replace the worshipped character with a local given the same identity and supported as some kind of superhero.

The original Master piece, or the middle of the road flick with Denziel?

It may be an issue if the "other" world has a higher TL.

I think that, as long as the Secret is preserved, it's not that big a deal.

Maybe the original Phantom, the Ghost Who Walks, was an ISWAT operative, who recruited a local to replace himself, preserving the Secret.

The original MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE with Angela Landsbury playing the mother of the year-younger Lawrence Harvey.

Not that unusual. Estell Getty played Bea Arthur's mother in the Golden Girls. Getty was two years younger.

natalie Schafer was 11 years older than Lana Turner but played her mother in a truly exerable TV series created by Harold Robbins.
