Default Shakespeare Doublet/Triplet Combination

While playing Munchkin Shakespeare, I somehow ended up with both the Doublet and Triplet and it got me wondering, can their multipliers be combined? I assume not, as they may be worn specofically with ANother armor, So wearing both would not allow for a third. Am I correct? Thanks in advance!

Sure, they can be combined.

But how can they be combined? Is it double the triple the bonus (or vice-versa) making it 6x, or is it double and triple the original bonus, making it 5x?

Double and triple, in either order, is sextuple. I don't even understand where you're getting the other possibility unless you're bringing in log tables, in which case you're REALLY overthinking this game.

I was more thinking, if x is the value of the armour and the rule you've established is that the formula is either 2(3x) or 3(2x), what I was suggesting was more like (2x)+(3x). But whatever, maybe I am over thinking it. Conversations like that during the game always add to the fun to me.

For what it's worth, Dungeons & Dragons had such a rule that where any time multipliers were combined, they were added, not multiplied, effectively removing the initial value being added more than once. Munchkin takes the more powerful, more fun, simpler way.
