Low Tech - Cheap Armor?
Probably a dumb question, but I felt the need to ask. If an armor is old, something some mumified corpse was buried in long ago, would this count as "Cheap" if it frayed, dry rotted or rusted to death?

Re: Low Tech - Cheap Armor?
I'd probably go with significantly lower DR rather than 'cheap, but full DR'; if the armor is structurally unsound, it's less likely to stop a blow. Seriously unsound armor might have semi-ablative or ablative as well, as pieces fall off when it's hit.
'Cheap' implies inferior materials (which have to be layered thicker for the same protection) and ill-fitting one-size-fits-all construction (meaning there's lots of extra material used to cover gaps). Something that's rotted/rusted away is likely to be lighter but less protective, not heavier and equally protective.

It's what I use to represent such.
