I'll offer a less antagonistic reply.
I appreciate that you want both to succeed.
A great setting is a good thing, however if something is too tied to a specific setting people may be concerned with how it will fit into their setting. Or how much work might be needed to adapt it.
Hall of Judgement is evocative and could fit in a Steven Brust novel or a setting in Ancient Egypt or Greece.
Hall of Tyre only has meaning to those who are more than passingly familiar with Norse Mythology, Hes not as well known as say Odin or Thor.
Reaching a wider audience is important and as much as many like Norse there are so many other options, historical and fictional.

DF is generic and intended to be, and guess what? It sells a lot better than Banestorm or Madlands. A lot of people want simple and those who dont can more easily port something if they dont have to do a lot of renaming or work on it.
And really it boils down to what the author wants to write and the publisher thinks will sell or represent the company well.
Because GURPS is not tied to a setting in the core rules authors can wrote to whatever they want if its good enough.

Keep it civil please. Some of the post in the last day have either brushed the line, or crossed it.

Remember, once you move past the discussing the idea and into actually discussing the person, especially when making assertions about the person you have moved into personal attack territory.

Thank you.

Edit: Offending tangent removed.

Wouldn't the Hall of Tyre be in Lebanon or Phoenicia?

Out of curiosity, is Isfjall pronounced as it would be in Iceland? Something like eyes-fiAT-lah?

It should be, though I would have pronounced it Eyes-F-Y'ALL, but then again I spent time in Texas.

In Icelandic the stress is always on the first syllable of the word. Having said that, Ísfjall is a combination of two words Ís (Ice) and Fjall (mountain). In my experience the sound non-Icelanders can't make is the -ll sound in the end.

Yah know, þorkell, if you can email me at gamingballistic at gmail dot com, I might want to bounce a few things off of you to make sure I don't make another mistake like calling my "high chiefs" harjarl instead of hajarl.

(the first apparently is "hair lord," the second is "high lord." Oops.)

HAH! Heavy metal album cover my butt!

You're obviously trying to trick us into playing in an '80's hair band adventure!

There’s already a published 80’s hair band adventure. GURPS Deathwish
