Rick and Morty Songwriter Class - Failed rhyme
Hey guys,
So we've been having a lot of fun (heated arguments) with this version of the game. We're veterans of vanilla Munchkin but this Rick and Morty edition has some relevant differences. This will probably sound silly or borderline trolling but bear with me, pls. Last night we were playing a round of Rick and Morty and in one of the rounds while were some nasty monsters to fight, the person that was fighting against them used a one-shot and afterwards triggered the Songwriter Class skill of rhyming to double the one shot card effects. It was a flashpoint in the game since the victory or probable defeat for this person hanged in the result of this particular battle. The group went wild when the player in question failed the rhyme (ie. tried to do a rhyme but it didn't rhyme) - as it is a once per combat perk we argued that if the artifact of the rhyme failed it couldn't be triggered again in this combat. The crazy thing is that the challenger argues that he didn't do a rhyme so he can try again until a rhyme comes out - since it's not a rhyme it wasn't used yet in that combat. In our opinion that opens a dangerous precedent. What's you thoughts on this? Tks for the help. |

I think I agree with you - if the rhyme doesn't come off, you can't try a second time. I would also be VERY generous with what constitutes a "rhyme" - have you listened to some of the stuff that supposedly rhymes in pop music?
