Vassarious hasn't expended any points yet and this brings us to 13, so let's take the current:

Ultimate Combat Style! - DX! - 14 [48]
Karate (Improved from Style! Default) - DX/H - 16 [8]

And improve the Style by a level while keeping the Karate level constant:

Ultimate Combat Style! - DX! - 15 [60]
Karate (Improved from Style! Default) - DX/H - 16 [4]

That costs 8 points, leaving Vassarious with 5 points,

I will remove the active shapeshift penalty by putting [3] into the technique, and reduce the improvisation penalty adding [2] to that technique

My concern is our tendency to move at different rates when that happens...

Suggestions are very welcome!

Prophesy is tricky, and whenever you prepare for it, your find you've prepared for the wrong interpretation. If all we really know about the mission is that we go and stuff goes down for a maybe god-king, then we have to go and see what goes down for who!

I think finding a local witch or seer that can help is a good move regardless, so staring there works for me.

I'm less concerned about tempo and more concerned about travel between drops. This is a bronze age world, and I don't think Corco likes being used as a taxi service. I like that when splitting up we don't get into states where one player tends to wait on the other, but the lag can become bothersome.

Anyway, up for proceeding either way.

For seeking out a local witch, In an obscure spot, I'd suggest the following:

  • If you really want to be inaccessible, go to mesoamerica

If you're doing two locations, pay attention to where your languages end up. You get a limited number.

Yeah, try to keep the taxi service low. Generally a "Non-urgent" drop will take a day or two for them to find an opportunity. Though a griffon bearing a rider isn't a completely unknown site on this world.

Well completely inaccessible would be a bit over the top. Balkans seems like a good move, maybe China.

Well Halcyone's got four, and V's got three. Counting it off how many could be relevant:
1) Babylonian
2) Court Babylonian (Meaningful distinction?)
3) Greek
4) Anatolian (same as Greek?)
5) Balkan (same as Greek?)
6) Persian (Erased by Babylon?)
7) Afghan/Central Asian
8) Chinese

Obviously we don't need all of them (probably a minimum cut if we went with Balkans is 1, 3, 4, and 5, while China is 1, 6, 7, and 8
