Gazebo level 8...no one can help?
so my son and i are locked in an enduring battle....he is whipping me but i manage to crawl and scrape my way back into the game and we both end up at level 9...the only thing saving me is that I am a wizard that keeps discarding 3 cards to eliminate the monsters that he would easily beat to hit level 10 and garner the victory....however i finally get a monster that i can defeat...the GAZEBO level 8...and what to my wondering eyes do i read?? something about reindeer??!! NO even better....no one can help me i must face alone....i scream out that i win...i can beat the GAZEBO and there is nothing he can do to stop me...he can't intervene...it is my battle alone and my level 9 beats this monster...after 2+ hours in battle I win!!!!!
or do I? |

Re: Gazebo level 8...no one can help?
You have several problems here.
To address your main question, no one can help you doesn't mean no one can help it. He can do whatever he wants to assist the monster/stop you. Secondly, as a wizard, you cannot charm a monster that you are not in combat with. So if your son is fighting a monster alone, your wizard's charm is useless. |

Re: Gazebo level 8...no one can help?
Also, it sounds like you are only discarding three cards to use Charm. This is incorrect. You discard your entire hand of cards, which must be at least three cards. It doesn't matter if you have 3 cards or 10 cards in your hand when you do this, you discard them all. This does not include cards you have in play, which can't be discarded to power Charm.
So yeah, your son should have won many turns before. |

Re: Gazebo level 8...no one can help?
thank you clipper and doomed duck..we played again tonight and realized that we were using the wizard charm incorrectly and I admitted that my son should have won the game...we also agreed (with wifey's input) that he could in fact help the gazebo but not me...so as we learn this game we will grow and dad will in fact win some games! thanks!
It takes a big man to admit he's wrong...I'm not a big man |

Re: Gazebo level 8...no one can help?
You are confusing the term "Help".
Help, in Munchkin, refers to joining the combat and adding your entire Combat Strength to the Munchkin side. The Gazebo does not prevent you from adding one-shots or other modifiers to either side of the combat. |
