Default Robes are armor

While adjusting my automated systems for the official format

(Still a work in progress as you see here) http://www.hcobb.com/tft/rand_squad....&group=&wiz=12

I stumbled over this in the writing notes http://www.sjgames.com/general/guide...hefantasytrip/

"Armor: Enchanted silken robes stop 3 hits/attack"

This is done with the Weapons Armor Enchantment spell?

Yes, I'm well aware that a Stone Flesh ring cost the same and stops one more hit, but this is stackable on top of that.

I feel that robes can add protection of sorts.

Thick robes might offer 1 point of protection to the rear, possibly to the sides.

Regular robes might passively offer some type of 'parry' effect as the striker is not exactly sure where the body is. But this would probably be better as a bonus to an active parry as swirling cape?

Yeah, it's always been possible to enchant clothes as armor. It just tends not to be particularly great (because armor gets more and more effective the more you can stack) except for people who want zero DX adjustment.

Especially when your GM is tracking damage to armor, in which case it may tend to get destroyed and lose its enchantment after getting slashed a number of times.

I'm not finding the quote there. No matter, I agree with Skarg it sounds perfectly legitimate. But enchanted clothes should be as easy to damage as regular clothes -- the "hits stopped" applies to the wearer during an attack, not to the robes themselves during normal wear. One rip, tear, or fray and the enchantment leaves. Or fades as the color does!

Wash in cold water only, delicate cycle, with color-guard detergent.

ROFL.

Maybe offer a new spell "Enchantment-guard robe washing" to keep your wizard and his most delicate garments looking sharp.
