Kill my own hireling
if i use the hireling card in Munchkin 1 and i also have the "kill the hireling" card, can i kill my own hireling in order to level up? And if i can kill him, can i also loot him?

Re: Kill my own hireling
The "kill the hireling" GUAL does not specify that it has to be someone else's hireling so yes, you can kill your own hireling.
Under the hireling rules in "need for steed" you are able to loot the body of your hireling if it is killed. You can kill and loot your own hireling. |

Re: Kill my own hireling
so i assume that the "need for steed's" rule for looting applies to this case for munchkin 1 as well
thanks for your help anyway Last edited by glaros; 02-25-2016 at 08:06 AM. |

Re: Kill my own hireling
but the Hireling card text points out that you lose the item if you lose the Hireling. and, according to the rules, we should follow the card text if it contradicts with rules.

Re: Kill my own hireling
But, if you yourself are playing the curse outside of combat, I assume you would remove the item from the Hireling before you kill it.

But, if you forgot to remove it, you have to lose it.

Re: Kill my own hireling
regardless of the rules, i think that the generic hireling shouldn't be able to carry complex items such a class or a race item and a player shouldn't be able to gain a level for killing his own hireling

Re: Kill my own hireling
However, those are the rules, and we're not interested in a continuing argument about it here in the Munchkin 101 forum, so let's let that be the end of the discussion.
