Default Can you win a combat where you can’t gain the winning level?

Basically the situation is that one person is on Level 9 and cannot win the combat on their own. Thus, they used a card to compel another person to help them, however the card says that they cannot gain the winning level this way, and they’re fine with that as they just want to take the treasure. Is it possible to do this, or can you only play the card to compel another person to help you if you can gain the treasures and levels?

You cannot choose to forgo the levels, and so you cannot use a card to compel someone to help if that fight would win you the game. Moreover, if you have already forced someone to help and the fight becomes a fight for the win after that, the helper is kicked out of the fight without penalty.
