Custom Infantry Bases
I've custom ordered some laser-cut chipboard base toppers to glue onto 3/4" fender washers to use for my infantry bases. Drilling a hole in the base of the infantry to hold a 1mm x 2mm rare earth magnet. It's a lot of time drilling and gluing, but I've got a lot of Godzilla DVDs that I'm watching while doing this!
I'll also put magnets under the carrier bed of the GEV-PCs so I can easily move infantry on and off the vehicles. And have stands for all the infantry since Minis Set 2 doesn't include stands. Re: Custom Infantry Bases
Very nice! I admit it, your build capabilities are better than mine. ^_^

Re: Custom Infantry Bases
Thanks — it just takes patience and a very good vid library!
I've also been alternating work on this and trimming figures for Bolt Action so i don't go stir crazy just doing the same endless task. And watching The Rat Patrol and Hogan's Heroes while trimming those for viewing variety. ^,^

Re: Custom Infantry Bases
I've been watching C&Rsenal's "Primer" series of YouTube videos on World War I firearms as I assemble and paint my miniatures.

Re: Custom Infantry Bases
A point that came up over on TMP that might not have occured to folks:
Base toppers like this would also be good to use when gluing figures to stands, to avoid the headache of trying to fill texture around the tiny base of each figure to blend it in.

Thanks for sharing!

I just looked closer at this: 6 GEV-PCs with 3 infantry each (infantry are compatible with those from Set 1) So you don't get the extra INF bases for if and when they are not riding a GEV-PC???

When those infantry dismount from their carriers, they can roll around in puddles. Since I'm re-basing all of my infantry, I was able to give all my plastic bases to a friend who now has plenty for their KS 2 infantry and a pile of extras so that some number can be based as 'change' with 1 or 2 figures per for quick use during a game without having to pop infantry in and out of the available bases. For folks who don't want to put in all the work to bemagnet their infantry, you still might want just to glue the Minis 2 infantry to stands, and use the Minis 1 infantry to pop in and out of the carriers. If you're gluing figures to a washer, using base toppers like I did would be a quick and easy way to level off the base top without have to putty/flock around the edges of the figures' bases.
