It can seem that way, but really, as I see it, I only have to find out about stuff before it is too late to get it (if I want to). Generally if I watch the news on THIS site, I'll hear about stuff before that point...

This is exactly it. The Illuminator is really the best way to keep track of everything. Most everything shows up there within a few days, and even still is done months before a product is released. Distributor news and other stuff like what happens on Munchkinpromos does not take into account release data or anything.

Its neat to get early news from Icv2 or a surprise announce at Gama, but that won't stop you from being in touch early enough to enjoy the product.

I know you said only to trust news officially released by SJGames, but this one turned out to be true.

Does anyone else have problems keeping in the know?
We're discussing an email newsletter (likely monthly). Would that help?

I would like that. As long as it is not more often than once a week (monthly sounds good) it is managble.

I thought that was pretty much what the illuminator was.

In regards to the sleeves, would there be any way of getting a bulk discount from anywhere, like a retailer would? Don't really feel like dropping probably $500 plus on these, but I would like my game to look uniform.

I suggest talking to your local game store. It's possible they'll work a deal with you for a sizable pre-order.

I'd like a monthly email! I think that sounds like a wonderful idea.

FYI - Please do not throw out the card sleeve headers if you buy sleeves. US residents are going to want to keep these for . . .

And yeah, don't toss the headers.
